I can’t believe that it is February already! We have been super busy at Artful Conceptions getting homes ready for the new year. As many of you know the normal turnaround for a full home design is about 12 weeks if everything goes as planned. Well part of our super busy beginning of the year was to complete that task in 4 weeks. In fact this week we took a home from nothing Wednesday morning to completely furnished with all artwork and accessories by Friday afternoon. So here are some pictures of the project. (Some pictures are prior to finishing to keep the client identity confidential)

The home is a very traditional style and the client is not super traditional. So we created a modern traditional look with of course an amazing man cave. By combining antiques and modern pieces we were able to create a comfortable yet elegant design. The mixing of wood tones and textures adds depth to the space. Distressed and refined finishes can be great combinations. I love to mix shell inlays with painted distressed pieces. And yes go for the mixing of gold, silver, and bronze finishes. Life is not all in one color your home shouldn’t be either! Mix leather and fabric and don’t forget the pops of color. I know there has been so many images of the monochromatic farmhouse look but life is in color. Your home needs color as well! Don’t let the trend sway you as to what your personal style is. Keep your soul in your home!

  1. I love that mirror !!! Why do men always get a “man-cave”, I think women are entitled to a space of their own too !!

    • Thank you! I agree as well although many would say that the majority of the home is the woman’s. Personally I prefer for my husband to have his own space so it isn’t all over the house. Just my own thoughts.
